We

8(a) and WBE/DBE Certified Firms

Managing an 8(a) or WBE/DBE firm requires the same basic management and business skills as does running any other like-sized business. With the exception, of course, of the paperwork involved in obtaining, documenting and retaining 8(a) or WBE/DBE certified status.

Our team is prepared to provide your growing firm with the necessary business and management consulting services required of an 8(a) firm and, in addition, we are uniquely positioned to provide assistance with the often daunting task of preparing required certification applications and other paperwork.

Aurora Consulting is itself certified by the State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Safety, Civil Rights Office as a WBE - a woman owned business. We not only have personal experience with the applications and other paperwork involved, we have assisted a number of minority-owned businesses and Alaska Native corporations prepare the paperwork required to become 8(a) certified. Additionally, our team has also worked with a number of 8(a) firms to develop marketing and plans to meet other program requirements.

Ann Campbell is the past Director of the Minority Business Development Center where, for five years, she provided a variety of management and technical assistance to minority-owned business enterprises. And, in that capacity, she assisted MBE's to obtain bank financing, to prepare business and marketing plans and to procure contracts.

“Ann brought focus and clarity to the strategic planning and goal setting process with superlative efficiency. The tools she gave us are practical and effective in helping us maintain forward momentum. I highly recommend her services for any village corporation or ANC subsidiary if they want to grow their business and still maintain efficiencies.”
